Nancy Little Hoffmann, P.A., established in 1977, specializes in civil appellate matters in state and federal courts. The firm also appears as co-counsel at the trial level in complex cases to provide legal support such as research, argument, and drafting of jury instructions and verdict forms.
For the past 40 years, Nancy Little Hoffmann has represented hundreds of clients in the appellate courts of Florida in various areas of the law, with over 350 reported decisions. Her experience includes civil appeals in the Florida Supreme Court and all five District Court of Appeal, in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, family law, insurance matters, contracts, and business litigation. She has also appeared as amicus curiae counsel on behalf of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers/Florida Justice Association and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD). In 1994 – the first year it was available – she obtained Board certification from the Florida Bar as an appellate specialist.
In addition to civil appeals and original proceedings in the appellate courts, Nancy Little Hoffmann, PA co-counsels with trial attorneys to provide legal support such as research, argument, and drafting of jury instructions and verdict forms, particularly in complex cases. Many trial lawyers have found that association with an experienced appellate lawyer at an early stage of the litigation had helped them to achieve a fair settlement; or, if the case proceeds to trial, to identify potential appellate issues and to protect the record on appeal.
Ms. Hoffmann will be glad to consult with you about your case and will give you a frank assessment as to whether you can appeal a particular matter and perhaps as important, based upon her extensive experience, whether you should file an appeal. Should you decide to retain the firm to go forward with an appeal, or to defend an appeal brought by your adversary, Ms. Hoffmann will handle your case personally, welcoming your valuable input throughout the process.
